The DPI Story – Building India’s skilling backbone
With a growing population and a dynamic workforce, India recognized the pressing need to align skilling, education, employment and entrepreneurship under one umbrella. In response, the vision emerged to establish a robust Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) - a comprehensive national platform architected to connect talent with opportunities.
SIDH stands as a groundbreaking DPI designed to unify and amplify India’s skilling ecosystem. Anchored in interoperability, scalability, and inclusivity, SIDH brings together 23 Ministries and 26 states, supporting a total of 314 schemes. With a mobile-first approach and multilingual design, SIDH ensures equitable access to resources related to skilling, education, apprenticeship, employment and entrepreneurship.
SIDH is designed to securely store, verify, and share digital credentials, monitor real-time program performance, and curates personalised learning and career pathways. Through Aadhaar-enabled verification, biometric attendance, and digitally verifiable certificates, SIDH redefines transparency, security, and citizen-centric service delivery.
